Introduction
Final Harbour is a "tick-based" fantasy strategy game. In this kind of game the game-time will go on and on, even if you are not
online. One session lasts several weeks. Normally such a game cycle is reffered to as an "age". Here one age lasts for 5 game years, that's
10 weeks. Your resources come in every ingame day. A day has a length of 56 minutes
in Final Harbour. One ingame month has 30 days and 12 months build one year. So you have a total of 1800 "turns" during an age. You have land
units reffered to as hectare where you can (and should) install buildings. These buildings are the base for your income, your strategy and your
military strength. You can specialize in several ways to play the game. So if you are the leader of a mighty warrior society or of a fearsome mage
realm is up to you. However, you are not alone in your struggle to world domination on Final Harbour. Several other players (currently up to 5) have to
work together and form one Kingdom. You have to choose a leader amoung yourselves and you have to adjust your strategies to stand a chance against
your competitors. One alone is as nothing, the Kingdom is all. So you see, it's a team based game. As this game has players from all around the
world the language of choice should be english. Of course you can use whatever language you want, but the rest of your team has to understand
your statements. The main part of the communication will take place in an internal kingdom forum. This forum is secure and no "enemy" can spy
there. You can alternativly use direct personal massages ingame if you want to address one player directly. This way you can communicate with other
players outside your kingdom too, but you should be aware that it is not allowed to swear or to direct other kinds of dirty or offending content to
them. There is a report option and breaking that rule might get your province deleted.
You are encouraged to use a name of your choice for your province and your playing character. You should use one that fits the spirit of the game
and it must not contain "dirty" words or some other content that might offend other players.
So if you start to play you should be aware that you'll have to login quite often to stay competetive. It isn't mandatory to login frequently
throughout a day, but at least once per day will be needed to keep in touch.
If you are new to the game and read this manual for the first time, you should use the "next" links on every page to go through it step by step.

The Basics
The basic environment is that of a pre-industrial community with a monarchy as government. In this special case you start as a Knight with a
certain amount of land and resources. The goal is to grow big and strong. With the growing of your province there will be other titles of
nobility.
Your province is placed in a much larger nation together with up to 4 other players. In the beginning you should help to elect a
"King/Queen" so that your kingdom has somebody to represent your community to the other kingdoms you compete with. As long as you
haven't elected a nominal leader, your kingdom is assumed being in a state of civil war and you all have certain disadvanteges because
of that.
Your realm consits of land units measured in hectare. You can use that land to build several different buildings on. For example homes
that house a certain amount of peasants. The peasants are your subjects. They work and produce money or food. They can be trained to
become part of your army, your agents or your wizards. While your working peasants produce resources, your trained troops eat those
resources up again and it's up to you to balance these things.
As stated above it is your goal and the goal of your whole kingdom to grow. There are two possible ways to achieve that. First you
can send out part of your army to explore land in your neighborhood and make it habitable. The second way is to conquer it from your
enemies. Of course the explorable amount of land is limited for your kingdom so that your only chance to get really big is to go to war
with other kingdoms.
In your building options there are a few special buildings. These are designed to make it possible to specialize yourself in the kind of
warfare you prefer. You can either be more warrior, more the stealthy type or the more magic using one. You can only have two of those
building types at once and each can only consume up to 10% of your land (you can have more, but only 10% count). As there are two different
buildings for each main direction you can either completly specialize in one area and gain all benefits, or you can spread your intrests.
Both has its advantages and disadvantages. It's up to you to decide which way is the right one for you. If you made a mistake, you can always
raze your initial buildings and change direction during an age. But don't forget that the right mixture in your kingdom is a vital aspect
of the game too!
One thing you should always keep in mind is that this game is a TEAM game. So you really should try to get this aspect of the game running.
You have your KD-Forum and your own intelligence as tools. Use it! It is time you realise that there are only 2 highscore lists in the end
and both only list whole kingdoms. One is based on the total value of the tax income of your Monarch(s) for the whole age and the other one
is based on the total land size of the kingdom. So playing for your own really shouldn't be an option.
